The Wedding Where We Needed to Find a New Venue Just Six Weeks Before the Wedding Day.

Picture this; You and your fiancé are set to get married September 14th, 2019. The venue you have chosen for this special day was a private space owned by family. With the venue secured, all the vendors were booked including the major ones like the tent rental and catering companies. The day is fast approaching and you get told news that seems like it will ruin EVERYTHING.

Stella and Quang, two of the sweetest people we have had the pleasure of working with, just 6 weeks before their wedding date got some bad news about the family property they were set to have their wedding on. We were in the middle of our busiest weekend of the year, packed with weddings and events, and while at one of our client’s weddings we got the call. The location Stella and Quang were going to use was no longer available. When they called us, they were beside themselves, I mean who wouldn’t be this close to their wedding day? We would be lying if we said we weren’t a little panicked ourselves, however, we knew that if anyone could turn this around it was our team and with just 6 weeks to the date, we had no time for stressing!

We simply advised Stella and Quang that everything was going to be okay, and that we were going to find them a new venue. Immediately we began our search, making sure we would be able to use the vendors that we already had booked.

Airbnb’s were the first locations we looked at because right on each listing, showed the dates each place was available. With such little time, we knew we couldn’t afford to wait for replies on availability, so having that access was a huge time saver!

Venues that were both available on September 14th and could host a wedding were forwarded to Stella and Quang for them to look through within 2 hours of the call. The couple made the decision to call some of the venues as they knew that we were in the middle of a multiple wedding and event weekend. The very next day they went to visit one of the venues and they totally fell in love with it. That Tuesday, our team and the couple went to the venue for a site visit together, and the venue was officially booked the following day.

The venue chosen was Fermanagh Farms, located just outside of Schomberg, ON. The venue is beyond stunning with an empty barn and large open field. Although stunning, this meant everything else was needed to be brought in by vendors. We had to arrange everything from the tent, chairs, tables, decorations, DJ, flowers, linens, dinnerware, catering plus their equipment.

Pulling this wedding together was a miracle!

From the start, we had only eight and a half months to plan the entire wedding. Six weeks of that time, the couple was unavailable due to a death in the family, and then having to find a new venue just six weeks before the wedding date.

This wedding had many challenges and really tested our skills of creating calm while the world seemed to be falling apart around us. Stella and Quang had said that they were so grateful and that if it wasn’t for us, they likely wouldn’t have got married. Regardless all of the issues that arose, the wedding day turned out amazing.

The best part of this whole thing? Even with the last-minute venue change and all the additional rentals that were required because of it, we were able to remain within the client’s budget! Stella and Quang didn’t have to jeopardize the vision they had for their wedding day because of their budget. We were able to deliver the wedding of their dreams while staying within thier budget, despite the issues that arose.

When we say they didn’t need to jeopardize a single wish they had, we mean it. Stella and Quang, along with their family had an intimate traditional Tea Ceremony along a beautiful garden on the property.

The ceremony decor consisted of one of the most stunning floral hoops we’ve ever seen, and two big arrangements upon pedestals standing either side of the aisle. There was also a big flower wall for guests to take photos in front of during cocktail hour, and throughout the remainder of the evening.

The reception dinner was held under the tent, decorated with rose gold table cloths, high pedestals with floral arrangements, and the sweetest wooden names at each place setting. The floral hoop from the ceremony was also moved under the tent to stand behind the couple.

Inside the beautiful barn was where the dancing happened. Stella and Quang came out with a choreographed first dance, including spins, and it was mesmerizing to watch.

Everything about the wedding was beautiful, and would you believe us if we told you that the floral hoop, flower wall, aisle arrangements and the centrepieces were all faux flowers? Well it’s true, all done by the lovely Jamilah Florals. Not only were they cost effective, but also environmentally friendly which the couple was really happy about!

Although this wedding had its challenges it will forever be one of our favourites that we have ever done.
